Teton Dam Marathon

While I was home in June I was able to run a 10K with my brother and sister. It was a little bit harder then I hoped for but we all finished with good times and no injuries. It really does feel good to have finished a race. Who knew that we would all become runners?

Jason and Carina came and ran the home stretch with me. I was totally grateful, I think that last .2 was the longest part of the race.

Camping at the Beach

The beginning of June we went camping by the beach with some of our dental school friends. We had a total blast. One couple we went with has a little boy just 10 days older than Hank so the little boys were able to entertain each other. Hank loved the beach all the sand and water anyone could ask for. Instead of being scared of the waves coming toward him he ran head first into the ocean. We definitely have a little adventurer on our hands.

Hank and his friend James. They both just wanted to play in the campfire so we tossed them in the back of the truck (an impromptu playpen) and they loved it.

Hank and James playing after breakfast while we packed up camp.

Hank was so tired he fell asleep while playing the the holes in his sandals.

Over all the camping was a hit. We had such a great time with our friends and really enjoyed getting outdoors again. We will definitely be going back.

A very Handsome Hank!

Yesterday we went shopping and found Hank this very cute suit and some new shoes. I thought that he was very cute! My handsome little man!

It's so hard to get a good picture of Hank. He is always on the move! (Hence the walking photos.)

Feeding the Geese!

A couple weeks ago we had some really nice weather and Tyson was home from school early so we went to the river to feed the ducks. When we got to the river there wasn't any ducks just some very anxious geese. They saw us coming and swam over very quickly. They ate a whole loaf of bread rather quickly but we still had a blast. We can some bread to Hank and told him to feed it to the geese and he looked at us and very slyly put the piece of bread in his own mouth. We'll have to work on sharing with the geese.

After feeding the geese we played around and soaked up some sun!

On our way back to the car Hank saw this puddle of water and quickly ran into before we could stop him. Tyson was there just in time to stop him from sitting down.

Hank's first fishing pole!

Tyson is starting Hank out young! Hank is only 1 but apparently that is old enough to own a fishing pole. A new store opened up a couple months ago not far from our house called Fisherman's. They were having their Grand Opening Sale and had give-aways every morning to the first 100 people. One of the days it was a free fishing pole and tackle box to the first 100 kids under 12. So naturally we just had to be there and we waited in line for an hour and a half just so Hank could get a free fishing pole. I have to say that Hank was pretty excited about, but not as excited as Tyson.

I didn't get a good picture of Hank's shirt but it has a fish on it and says "Gone Fishing"

Random Pics of Hank

These are just a bunch of random pics of Hank that don't really have enough for a full post but they needed to be shared.

Hank was hanging outside with Daddy and decided he wanted to play in the dirt. If you look closely, he even has a shovel and was "digging" in the dirt.

Hank has this new fascination with necklaces. Anything that even resembles a necklace Hank puts it around his neck. This makes me very nervous because he's not super grand at getting them off and usually gets himself tangled in a mess. Anyway in this pic Hank found some of Tyson's materials for fly-tying (basically like yarn) and decided it was a necklace.

Tyson was cutting up peppers for fajitas one night and Hank was "helping" him by sitting on the counter. While Tyson was cutting the peppers Hank leaned over grabbed a quarter and took a big bite.

He totally loved it!

Hank loves the outside and he loves this little red car. Every time he goes outside he climbs into the car and starts to bounce up and down, which means, "Come on Mom! I'm ready for our walk." I just thought it was really cute that he was siting with his legs crossed in front of him.

Hank loves to wear Daddy's hat and he's just so cute I couldn't resist taking a picture!

Happy Birthday!!! Hank is 1!!!

Since we had a b-day party while my family was here Hank's actual birthday was pretty low-key. Hank opened his present from his dad. Then we had a breakfast of french toast. Tyson had to go to school in the morning but we picked him up for lunch. We were going to have a picnic but the weather was a little bit cold, so we just went out to eat. We then came home and played with dad. It was a great day!

"You got me a dump truck!!"

"Thanks dad I love it!"

Easter

Easter kind of snuck up on us this year. Since we were busy with everything else going on we forgot about the Easter Bunny and Easter Witch (Norwegian). I was feeling really really bad about this and Tyson told me that Hank wouldn't even know what was going on and he wouldn't remember past that day. We did buy him a cute stuffed Lightning McQueen which he LOVES!

In order to try and salvage the traditions of Easter we decided to dye eggs. If you haven't done this with a one year old I highly recommend it. It was a great adventure.

Hank "helping" daddy dye an egg.

Checking out his egg. He was squeezing them so hard I was afraid he was going to break the shell and then we'd have egg smooched all over.

All Hank wanted to do was eat the eggs and drink the dye. He was so mad that we wouldn't let him drink the dye.

Dipping his egg in the yellow dye. He's fingers were a mixture of many different colors by the end of the experience.

Our final product. I realized you can't be very creative when you are dyeing eggs with small children. It's more of a "get in and get out" experience. Just trying to get done before to much damage has happened. It was great fun though and it made me feel a little bit better about Hank's first Easter.
